Background
The purpose of Mercy Meals and More is to provide nutritional meals for members of the greater New Bedford community in need, offering free breakfasts, year round. The meals are available to all who are hungry, regardless of age, sex, sexual orientation, race, nationality, religious affiliation or ability to pay. Mercy Meals and More seeks to provide a safe atmosphere of welcome and affirmation, encouraging the sort of positive social networking that strengthens community. Additionally, opportunities abound for volunteers to be involved in meaningful service to the community, working as hosts, cooks, servers, doing setup and cleanup and helping in other ways as needed. It is through the generosity of donors and volunteers that it is possible for Mercy Meals and More to cast a ray of hope into the darkness of poverty
